Eagle Wings.
Held fast in nature’s arms.
Staring out on an ocean calm.
A wonderful sound
echoes all around.
It’s my heartbeat.
Another day is done and
I say goodbye to the setting sun.
In just a short time,
a moment sublime.
He will pass his watch to the moon.
What I’ve found here
I’ll take back to the ground here.
It’s part of me now.
Filling my soul.
Beneath the Milky Way,
I listen to the ocean pray
and in a rumbling voice,
I understand.
Been under a city load,
stuck in the middle of the road.
Now suddenly in twilight,
the day turns to night.
A moment between dog and wolf.
The light has left
and I’m no longer sure of step.
So I wait for those eagle wings
to sweep me East.
